Privacy Policy

TOP10STOCKS is a financial information and learning platform. We collect as little personal information as we can, and this page explains — in plain language and based on how the site actually works — what we do collect and why.

Last updated:

1.What this policy covers

This policy describes what information TOP10STOCKS (the website at www.top10stock.com) collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits the site, sends us a message or creates an account.

Most of the site can be read without giving us any personal information at all. The sections below are ordered from what you choose to give us, to what is collected automatically, to what third parties do on our pages.

2.Information you give us

Contact form

When you use the contact form we receive the name, email address and message you type, plus the reason you selected. We use them only to read and reply to your message.

Account registration

Creating an account is optional and is not needed to read any page. If you register, we collect your first and last name, email address, mobile number and a password, and we send a one-time code to verify the email address. You can optionally add a profile picture. Account features are limited today; most visitors never need one.

Signing in with Google

If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, your email address (and that Google has verified it), your Google account ID and, if you have one, a link to your profile picture. We use them only to create your account or sign you in, and your email address counts as verified, so no code is sent. We never receive your Google password, and we get no access to your Gmail, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account. It is optional: you can always use an email address and password instead.

3.Information collected automatically

Like every website, our servers and hosting provider record technical details of each request — your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running, to diagnose faults and to detect abuse. Our application servers keep similar request logs.

We also use two Google services that collect information on our pages; they are described in the Analytics and Advertising sections.

4.Cookies and browser storage

We set a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries ourselves. None of them identifies you personally unless you have signed in.

NameWhat it doesLifetime
session_tokenKeeps you signed in after you log in to an account.Session / until you log out
popupRemembers that you closed the disclaimer notice so it is not shown again.1 day

top10stocks:learn:progress:v1 (browser storage)Which Learn lessons you have marked complete. This stays in your browser; it is not sent to us.Until you clear browser data

Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies (for example _ga and advertising identifiers). Those are third-party cookies governed by Google's policies; see the next two sections for how to control them.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, except that you cannot stay signed in and the disclaimer notice will reappear.

5.Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors move through the site. It collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and a random identifier stored in a cookie so that repeat visits can be counted. We look at this data in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Google processes this data under its own terms. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics in every website with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

6.Advertising (Google AdSense)

TOP10STOCKS is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, which may show ads on our pages. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance. We do not choose or endorse the products that appear in these ads.

You can control personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Other advertising partners' opt-out options are listed at aboutads.info/choices.

7.How we use information

  • To reply to messages you send through the contact form.
  • To create and secure your account and to sign you in, if you register.
  • To keep the site running, measure which content is useful and fix problems.
  • To show advertising that funds the site.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, such as automated submissions or unauthorised access.
  • To meet legal obligations, if any apply.

8.Who receives information

We do not sell personal information. Some information necessarily reaches the service providers that run parts of the site, each of which processes it for us or under its own published policies:

  • Vercel — hosts the website and therefore receives the technical request data described above.
  • Our application servers — store account details and receive contact-form messages, which are then delivered to our mailbox by email.
  • Google — Google Analytics, Google AdSense and, if you use it, sign-in with Google, as described above.
  • ImageKit — stores images uploaded by signed-in users (for example a profile picture). Visitors who never upload anything do not interact with it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or integrity of the site and its users.

9.Market data sources and external links

The market information on the site — stock data, IPO details, corporate actions, mutual fund NAVs and news — comes from exchanges, industry bodies and news providers, for example NSE announcements, the AMFI NAV feed and syndicated news feeds. Data flows to us from those sources; we do not send your personal information to them.

Pages link to external websites such as exchanges, company filings and news sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. This policy stops at the edge of www.top10stock.com.

10.How long we keep information

  • Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to keep a record of the correspondence.
  • Account information is kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove it.
  • Our own cookies expire on the schedule in the table above. Browser storage stays until you clear it.
  • Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded.

Google retains analytics and advertising data according to its own retention settings and policies.

11.Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Password resets use a one-time code sent to your email rather than sending the password itself, and the administration tools that can see account data sit behind their own login. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a password you do not use elsewhere and let us know if you see anything that looks wrong.

12.Children

TOP10STOCKS is written for adults who are interested in financial markets. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13.Your choices and rights

  • Cookies — block or delete them in your browser; see the Cookies section for what each one does.
  • Analytics — use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above.
  • Advertising — adjust personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
  • Learn progress — it lives only in your browser; clearing site data removes it.
  • Account and messages — you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Write to us using the details in the last section and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law. Nothing in this policy limits those rights.

14.Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change — for example if we add a new service that processes personal information. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version; check it if you want to know whether anything has changed since you last read this page.
